C10H8 & C10H180
C10H8 and C10H18O are artworks exploring beauty, decay, time, and the relationship between the individual and the collective, visualizing the fleeting nature of existence.
In C10H8, a woman stands before an abstract architectural background, symbolizing society’s constant evolution and impermanence. A rose in front of her genitals represents life’s beauty and fragility, while the skull in her hands reminds us of death’s inevitability. Moths and golden skull holes emphasize decay and the life-death cycle.
In C10H18O, a mirrored woman’s head looks down, creating a sense of duality and introspection. The multiple features represent the self’s various facets and how we perceive ourselves in the world. The rose and abstract background highlight the individual’s struggle to find beauty and meaning amid chaos. The golden moth on her forehead symbolizes life’s transience, while the floating pyramid suggests power and hierarchy within the collective.
The use of Augmented reality
Our project primarily explored the animated digital world, and I wanted to bring it into the physical realm using Augmented Reality (AR). AR allows the merging of traditional and digital art, blending past and future, tradition and innovation.
I view AR as a metaphor: the physical artwork acts as a motionless window— a gateway to the animated, dynamic digital world. This window triggers the AR experience, offering viewers an interactive journey beyond traditional art forms. The animation adds movement, while the physical artwork provides stability, creating a balanced, immersive experience.
I used the Artivive App, a popular AR platform, to make our art accessible via smartphones and tablets.

Merc'Art 2019
The concept, called Merc’Art, was founded by Alexandra Quadros in 2016 and operated until 2020 at LX Factory in Lisbon. It aimed to make art more accessible, bringing the beauty and joy of art to a wider audience.
Merc’Art offered privileged access to works by both emerging artists showcasing their art for the first time and originals from renowned artists.
This was my second time exhibiting at Merc’Art, where I presented two original artworks and a limited edition of 15 signed prints.
